The power pack is a highly integrated internal combustion engine drive system with the following technical characteristics: Compact layout: Due to the overall layout requirements of diesel multiple units (DMUs), all components of the power pack must be located under or on the roof of the vehicle, employing a compact layout and component structure design. Diesel engines are all horizontal or V-shaped structures; the hydraulic transmission box is a horizontal structure, with input at one end and output at the other; the cooling system has a flat structure and is located on the roof or under the vehicle.
High integration and simple vehicle interface: The diesel engine, hydraulic transmission box, diesel engine intake and exhaust systems, exhaust muffler, auxiliary generator, and even the entire cooling system are integrated into a single frame. This frame is then mounted on the vehicle body, and necessary piping, electrical circuits, and universal joint connections are made.
Flexible mounting of the drive system: After the entire drive system is integrated into a power package frame, flexible mounting elements are used.
Flexible drive system mounting: The entire drive system is integrated into a single power pack frame and then secured to the vehicle body using flexible mounting elements, reducing vibrations transmitted to the vehicle.
Optimized drive system: The entire drive system originates from a single supplier, facilitating interface technology clarification, component matching, and system performance optimization.
Suitable for upgrading existing vehicle drive systems: When vehicles require refurbishment or upgrades (e.g., to meet new mandatory emission standards), the high integration of the power pack makes it easy to replace the existing drive system entirely, achieving the goal of upgrading the vehicle's drive system.
Low life-cycle cost: The core component of the power pack, the hydraulic transmission box, has high reliability, low maintenance requirements, and long overhaul cycles, ensuring reliable operation throughout the vehicle's entire lifespan.
