In early October, a batch of CAT3126 series engines completed mass assembly and commissioning and officially began shipping to Russia from Jining Pinbo Import and Export Co., Ltd. in China. This batch of equipment will serve mining projects in Russia's Siberia region. Leveraging the CAT3126 engines' explosion-proof adaptability and adaptability to extreme environments, they fill the gap in the supply of high-efficiency power equipment for high-risk operations.
The CAT3126 engines have undergone targeted upgrades to fully comply with Russia's GOST 12.2.020-76 explosion-proof safety standard and local mining regulations. To address the flammable and explosive dust and gas environments common in Russian mines, engineers installed flameproof air filters in the engine intake system, using multi-layer flame-retardant filters to block sparks. The exhaust system features a water-cooled, flame-retardant exhaust manifold and spark arrestor, keeping exhaust temperatures below 80°C and minimizing explosion risks. The engine's electrical components have also been replaced with Ex d IIC T4 Ga-rated explosion-proof components, ensuring stable operation in a wide operating temperature range of -30°C to 40°C, making it suitable for the low-temperature operating environments found in Russia's Siberia.
As a classic Cat engine, the CAT3126 engine boasts high reliability and power. This adaptation to the explosion-proof engine further optimizes its performance: rated power remains at 158kW (2200rpm), with a maximum torque of 895N·m. This engine meets the heavy-duty demands of explosion-proof excavators and loaders, helping Russian mines achieve efficient rock stripping and ore transfer.
As these units gradually arrive in Russia and enter operation, the CAT3126 engine, with its dual advantages of "safety and efficiency," will provide power support for safety upgrades in the local mining industry. It will also help Chinese engineering machinery power equipment expand into the overseas explosion-proof market, promoting the global adoption of more power solutions that meet international standards.
