Working Principle of Diesel Engine

Nov 20, 2024

The working process of diesel engine includes four main strokes: intake, compression, combustion and exhaust. In the intake stroke, the piston moves downward, negative pressure is formed in the cylinder, and air is sucked in; in the compression stroke, the piston moves upward, compressing the air in the cylinder, increasing its temperature and pressure; in the combustion stroke, the injector sprays diesel into the high-temperature and high-pressure air, and the diesel and air are mixed and burned by themselves, producing high-temperature and high-pressure combustion gas, which pushes the piston to do work; finally, in the exhaust stroke, the piston moves downward and exhausts the exhaust gas.
