4TNV98T Yanmar Turbocharged Engine Was Shipped To Germany To Meet The Localized Needs Of Small-scale Engineering Equipment

Aug 04, 2026

In August 2026, a 4TNV98T turbocharged engine, fully customized and adapted throughout the entire process, completed customs declaration and export packaging verification at Qingdao Port and was officially shipped to Hamburg, Germany. This engine was custom-made for a German client specializing in high-end small-scale engineering machinery modifications and will be used in a power upgrade project for one of their specialized landscaping equipment.

This German client is undertaking the modification of specialized slope maintenance equipment for the local municipal system. They had specific requirements for the engine's dimensions, low-load stability, and low-temperature adaptability, far exceeding those of general-purpose models: the power replacement had to be completed without altering the existing equipment frame, and the engine also had to meet the equipment's long-term idling operation requirements in the low-altitude areas of the Alps during winter. The project team completed two rounds of drawing iterations, optimizing the 4TNV98T engine to meet the client's specific needs.

This customized engine features three targeted adjustments based on the original factory standard configuration: First, the layout of the external piping has been optimized for compactness, reducing the overall installation footprint without sacrificing power output. This perfectly fits the limited power compartment space of the existing equipment, requiring no cutting or welding modifications to the frame. Second, the idle speed stability control system has been upgraded, controlling the engine speed fluctuation within the 500-700 rpm range to within ±1.5%, meeting the equipment's need for prolonged low-load operation. Third, a complete set of low-temperature resistant sealing components and a high-power preheating system have been upgraded, enabling one-button start-up without auxiliary heat sources at -22℃, matching the extreme operating environment of the southern German mountains in winter.

This shipment of the 4TNV98T engine to Germany breaks the overseas market's preconceived notion that Chinese power products can only be mass-produced general-purpose models. It verifies the ability of domestic power manufacturers to provide rapid customized solutions for niche, high-end scenarios in Europe, and provides a new model for lightweight implementation of similar domestic power products entering the customized upgrade track of the European off-road equipment aftermarket.
